What We Harvest

Lincoln, MI - Cole Forest Products - Tree Harvesting

An approach that gets results

You and your property will both benefit from our timber harvests, which are financially profitable as well as environmentally sustainable.

If you want a personal approach to your next harvest, consider calling us. Scott Cole has decades of logging experience and will personally assess your property's standing timber and discuss your harvesting goals. This approach is all part of our business philosophy: respect the landowner, the land, and the wildlife.

Get to know your property's standing timber:

  • Ash: a medium-sized to small tree, known for timber that is tough yet elastic in quality, used for more practical purposes than almost any other tree
  • Basswood: a rapidly-growing tree that often has two or more trunks, whose timber is used mainly for pulpwood and sawlogs
  • Beech: a tree that can grow up to 70 - 80 feet tall and can be harvested for goods like flooring, furniture, and other wooden wares
  • Cherry: a medium-sized tree that can be harvested and used for cabinetry
  • Hickory: a strong and shock-resistant tree whose timber is often used for handles in hammers, shovels, and sports equipment
  • Maple (soft and hard): these trees can range in color from creamy white to reddish brown, both the soft and hard varieties can be harvested for timber, although hard maple tends to be more frequently used to build items like furniture
  • Oak: a tree with over 300 hundred different varieties, including white oak, red oak, and black oak, all of which can be harvested for timber
  • Pine: a coniferous tree with over 210 different species, including white pine, red pine, and jack pine, often used in furniture, wood trim, or cabinets
  • Walnut: a tree that is admired and sought after because of its hardiness, color and grain, which can produce high-quality materials for carpentry and construction
